Major is a fun mountain, great views, relatively short and easy. And crowded.
This day was no exception. However, I found an alternate route from the usual, and reached the summit having encountered only a couple of people.
The summit was about as expected, the usual collection of parents, grandparents, kids and dogs, but everyone seemed to be having a nice day :)

I decided to continue on, and take another less traveled path, down to the Beaver Pond trail and over to Straightback.
Once on Straightback, I did some minor whacks out to ledges just off-trail.
First time I noticed there's a little almost-bog on the southeast side of the summit, although today everything was horribly dry.
Stopped for lunch at the BRT junction, then headed back toward Major, and out via the Brook Trail.
Funny how there suddenly were no more people. Around 3 or 4 there were lots of people; by 6 nobody. Funny place - depending on the time of day you may be alone, or it may be like being at the beach :)
The one thing of note on the descent - I was very impressed by how little trash there was, all the way out to the parking lot - a kleenex or two and one tab from a gum wrapper. No dog debris. Great job, everyone!
