I've been visiting North Conway for quite a few years, now. I even had the good fortune to live there for a short time once. It's always had a feeling of community that I like.
There's a strong charity component in the community, and this past weekend it was expressed in the annual touch football Mud Bowl.
Before Saturday's games there was a parade.
I'm not much of a sports-game fan. I generally prefer hiking and other less raucous activities, but this year the timing was right to visit the parade, and it was a lot of fun!
Apparently there was a TV Game Show theme ( with a strong "MUD" foundation).
The creativity and work that went into some of the floats was pretty amazing. For example, the 3 X 3 matrix of the
Muddywood Squares entry. You just dont see that kind of construction in any ordinary parade :)
Though it was probably a good idea to not have the "contestants" seated until stopped for the reviewing stand...
The main street was closed, so there was no traffic flowing during the parade ( a condition that is hard to differentiate from any ordinary Saturday 
).
There was a good crowd, but I think much of the Valley population was actually IN the parade, with lots more already down at the mud bowl getting ready for the games.
The atmosphere was full of good spirits; many of the floats were entries by teams, and the rest were various organizations. With the community roots and long history of the Mud Bowl, it was clear that there were a number of inside jokes, but that just added to the mystique . It was still plenty entertaining.
After a march down to the train station, most entrants paused at the Reviewing Stand to perform some sort of skit.
The Valley Rats and the MWV Hogs played a variation of Survivor ( with a losing Hog being invited to be the guest of honor at the Rats' pig roast).
The Kennet High School drummers played the Theme from Jeopardy.

But my favorite - and my all-time favorite TV Game show - was the Gong show, featuring the Unknown Comic :)
